Godinho Alves
Economic Counselor of the Republic of Mozambique to the USA
Godinho Alves is the Economic Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique to the United States of America (U.S.A.). His responsibilities include the promotion and facilitation of trade, investment and economic cooperation between Mozambique and the U.S.A.
Godinho has more than 25 years of experience in trade and investment promotion and facilitation; investment treaty negotiation; Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Development; Public Private Partnership (PPP) project preparation; and investment project appraisal. He also has a strong record of working with the private sector in Mozambique.
Prior to his posting at the Embassy of Mozambique to the U.S.A, Godinho served as Deputy Director General of Mozambique Investment Promotion Centre (CPI) from 2010 to 2017.
He also served as Commercial Attaché at the High Commission of the Republic of Mozambique to the Republic of South Africa from 2000 to 2010.
