Mr. Sosa is the Director of Attraction of Investments at REDIEX, a key unit within the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Paraguay. He is responsible for the overall national strategy of investment attraction. He oversees an FDI portfolio worth more than USD 6 billion in potential projects from 29 firms in 13 countries. His team actively monitors more than 2,500 investor accounts from 41 countries in the world.

Before joining REDIEX, Mr. Sosa worked for three years at the National Planning Ministry, where he was Director General of Open Government, responsible for national policies on access to public information, open data and transparency. He was also an advisor on matters related to Paraguay’s involvement with the OECD, the Green Climate Fund and was one of the coordinators of the updating of the National Development Plan 2030.

Before joining the Paraguayan government, Mr. Sosa Otero worked for seven years at the United States Embassy in Asunción, Paraguay, first as Director of the Information Resource Center in the Public Diplomacy Section and second as a Political Specialist in the Political-Economic Section.

Mr. Sosa Otero obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Williams College in Massachussetts, USA and received an MBA from the American University of Asuncion, Paraguay. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
