Troy DeFrank is an international trade and investment professional with more than 15 years of experience generating new business for clients and driving corporate investment into new markets. He currently serves as an Investment Advisor and Acting Managing Director (US) for Invest Alberta. Troy also served as British Columbia’s Trade & Investment Representative in the Pacific Northwest US.

Previously, Troy was a Trade Commissioner at the Canadian Consulate in Seattle, as well as an International Business Development Manager for the Washington State Department of Commerce. In both roles, he supported cross-border trade, corporate expansion, and partnerships in a number of industries including technology, life sciences, cleantech, aerospace and building materials.

Troy received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Japanese from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s Degree in International Studies from the University of Washington.
